![]() They help you get the lands in play, afterall. If you really wanted to, this works well in Aesi, Tatyova, Jadzi, Kodama/Sakashima, and Gretchen. Early they help with setup, late they help with execution. ![]() I'd include Explore and Growth Spiral as cantrips-that-also-ramp, of course, compared to some other options. And these cards are all pretty good in their respective classes. They're all just good cards in a land-ramping deck, as you have draw, tutors, rituals, removal, and recursion in that pile. So build whatever you want and include Seasons Past, Rude Awakening, Solve the Equation, Mystical Tutor, Turnabout, Blue Sun's Zenith, and Capsize along the way. Direct damage gets around impossible walls and pillowforts sometimes, but not necessarily infinite life. Commander Damage can work, but doesn't get around things like ], especially if their lands have Hexproof or something. Sometimes you can't kill people via damage alone, so every damage-based deck needs a way around that. Literally you can put this in any Simic+ commander deck that can get enough lands in play. Capsize and USZ are the easiest includes, as they're also useful outside the win turn, opposed to something like Hurricane. I'd argue a 2-card combo with a fairly easy setup on Simic ain't bad, no? Especially if you can drop the land count via ] ] and friends.īasically, if you're ramping and drawing cards anyways, you can use Seasons Past to turn your utility into infinites, which then turn into win-cons. All you need to go off is 15 lands, a tutor, and either Seasons Past or Rude Awakening in hand. Keep in mind that you can begin by tutoring for Seasons Past. The spell tutors are obviously good outside the combo, and Seasons Past can be safely used early, as it just tucks itself away in your deck. Rude Awakening is a big ritual, so it's not a bad include on its own (and the card needs more respect, tbqh). The beauty of this combo is that it's basically a zero deckbuilding cost. ![]() ] lock? Kinda rude, but a one card include. Reset specifically requires flash to your spells on the turn you go off, as Seasons Past is a sorcery. Redundancy from ] ] and ] for Rude Awakening, ] and ] for Solve the Equation. ] looping ] ] and a cantrip like ] or ] draws your library and generates infinite mana, provided you have enough mana from lands available. ![]()
